The Iowa Western Small Business Development Center, hosted by Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, served the Southwest Iowa area for many years until it was closed in July 2002 due to state funding cuts.
Through a collaborative effort of Southwest Iowa business people, legislators and economic developers, the center was reopened in April 2004 and today serves 7 Southwest Iowa counties.
